f(x)于2009年11月9日推出首张单曲专辑《Chu》。主打歌MV通过韩国各大音乐网站进行了公开。
专辑的主打歌《Chu》是欧洲最新流行的有欧洲风格的舞曲，还应用了黑人音乐中经常用到的打击乐，以及加上低音部分多个乐器的强有力的组合，给这首歌添加了几份爆发力。
歌词中的《Chu》是亲吻的拟声词，以被亲吻后从睡梦中醒过来的童话中的主人公为主题，表现了通过亲吻后想了解更多的精彩世界的一个充满了好奇与期待的少女的心，加上歌词中多次反复的《Chu》给人一种微妙的中毒性。
